Aspartame the Soga Continues

After last months article on the possible effects of Aspartame, I have since been informed that according to some sources, the information of which I based my article was all not entirely true.  The true question at hand is who do  we believe?  I did hit a very hot topic that is in need of clarification.  A reader sent me an article from Time magazine Feb 18, 1999, stating that the information I received over the web was "A Web of Deceit".  This article attempts to debunk the information I shared with you last month, however after researching the topic I am still scepticle of the safety of Aspartame.&nbs p; One interesting  study showed that of 164 studies on Aspartame, 74 studies were sponsored by the aspartame industry and 90 were funded without any industry money.  Of the 90 non-industry studies 83 (92%) indentified one or more problems with aspartame.  Of the 74 aspartame industry-sponsored studies, all 74 (100%) claimed that no problems were found with aspartame.  I wonder if Time magazine has the aspartame industry as a sponsor or heavy advertiser.  This was a peer review of medical literature using MEDLINE and other databases that was conducted by Ralph G. Walton, MD, Chairman, The Center for Behavioral Medicine, Professor of Clinical Psychiatry, northeastern Ohio Unv. College of Medicine.

I urge you to perform your own research and look up aspartame on the web.  I used Yahoo browser and searched "aspartame".  I found 2739 matches on the subject of aspartame.  Many of which I read confirmed the information of the article I wrote last month.  It is your choice to choose if you want to consume a man made chemical into our natural God given bodies.
