Domains, Report Four

BestDomainsToday.com Report Four, Email!

In this report we will discuss the buying process for domains and what you get for your money. In earlier reports we have discussed picking a domain company and the domain name for you business or website. Then in another report we talked about web hosting and what to look for when choosing the domain company and then looking for a hosting company. It is always good to find a company that can give you good hosting along with the domain management. Then we discussed domain names and subdomains. We talked about subdomains and how powerful they can be when looking for exposure on the internet and in search engines.

Now we want to discuss email and what to look out for. This is a critical point since this is your business communication system outside of your telephone. Communication with potential customers and getting emails back is important since you want to be able to communicate with everyone about your business. Now I am going to holler at you for a second so don't take this personally but let it sink in. DON'T GET AN EMAIL FROM AOL, GMAIL, YAHOO, OR ANY OF THE OTHER FREE EMAIL ACCOUNTS THAT ARE WELL KNOW!

Anytime you use an email address from one of these sources, or the like you are sending a hidden message to your potential customer that you are a "fly by night" business. Use these accounts for junk mail or things that your customers will not see. But for Pete sake don't use it for your business. I can't tell you how many times I have seen this and believe me it turns me off. It sends the message that you are a shoe string business and that there is not much substance behind your business. It tells your potential customers that you are another start-up business and you have no longevity behind you.

You don't want to even raise these questions. Make sure that you are doing everything like the big boys and you will never have these types of questions come up, but leave loose ends and the red flags come up and the questions get asked. Sometimes the questions don't get asked, you are never given a chance!

When you purchase a domain you want to use a company that provides hosting, and email. This puts everything in one location. The email must be related to your site and give you the ability to set up multiple mail boxes for use when communicating with your customers. There is a very unique way to market using email response and if you are interested you might want to check out Traffic Wave which will give you the tools and education to learn how to market using email, but for this report all you should get as far as email goes is to know that you need a good reliable email resource.

Make sure that you email is spam-free and secure since you will get people sending you all sorts of mailers back when you submit your email to other sites and people. You want a good secure, reliable, fraud spam and virus protected email. Usually the domain company that you purchased your domain from can provide all this. When you purchase a domain you should get one email address for free with the purchase. Additional email boxes will cost but should be under $20 per year. At BestDomainsToday.com you can get up to 100 email addresses for under $30 per year. You want to have "Phishing" fraud protection to keep unwanted email out of your mail box. In computing, phishing is a criminal activity where phishers attempt to fraudulently acquire sensitive information, such as usernames, passwords and credit card details, by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. eBay and PayPal are two of the most targeted companies, and online banks are also common targets. Phishing is typically carried out by email or instant messaging, [1] and often directs users to give details at a website, although phone contact has been used as well. [2] Phishing is an example of social engineering techniques used to fool users.[3] Attempts to deal with the growing number of reported phishing incidents include legislation, user training, and technical measures.

The first recorded mention of the term phishing is on the alt.online-service.America-online Usenet newsgroup on January 2, 1996,[4] although the term may have appeared even earlier in the print edition of the hacker magazine 2600.[5] A phishing technique was described in detail as early as 1987, in a paper and presentation delivered to the International HP Users Group, Interex.[6] The term phishing is a variant of fishing ,[7] probably influenced by phreaking ,[8][9] and alludes to the use of increasingly sophisticated lures to "fish" for a user's financial information and passwords.

Spam filtering is important to have and use since it will get rid of junk mail and only allow you to receive your important information. I sometimes read some junk mail to get some marketing tips from them but for the most part unwanted mail is junk and it will always be there. Its like all those unwanted mailings you get in your mailbox, you simply throw them in the trash, and this is what your spam filter does for you.

The next is Virus protection, since a large part of viruses come through emails you want to be protected. Viruses lurk in innocent looking emails and then infect your computer. Keep your computer safe from these viruses, so you eliminate downtime.

256-bit encryption! When using Web-Based Email, protect your personal, business, financial, legal or medical information safe – keep your email contents and attachments private with rock-solid, industry-leading protection. With encryption your data is secure and all private information is safe and secure. Protecting your information that comes in through email has to be an issue that must be addressed since any sensitive material that is emailed to you must be kept secret. There are laws that make sure client confidentiality is kept and that any sensitive information that is shared with you on a confidential basis must be kept that way.

Auto-Save, saves your drafts even if you're interrupted mid-sentence. No more worries about losing an email due to a mistaken click, computer glitch or "oops." How many times have you written an email and had it delete itself before you were finished? This will not happen and your email client should have back up to make sure that you don't lose necessary information.

SMS/Text-Mail Service! You must have the new technology where clients can send and receive SMS/Text-mail. With your website and email package web-based email subscribers can instantly send both text messages and standard email. This lets your clients know that you are a technology driven business and you are able to keep up with the current trends in IT [Information Technology].

I like BestDomainsToday.com because it gives me all of the above and more. I like the fact that they worry about keeping up with technology and I have to worry about running my business. Having a good domain company behind you is like having an IT Department in your company. At BestDomainsToday.com you can even appoint someone in your company to interact with experts at BestDoaminsToday.com and they will also have experts to deal with you.
